Gerard has been working in the financial industry for over 32 years, helping companies strategically plan for accelerated levels growth at Scotiabank, Maple Leaf Angels and Jaguar Capital. He is an expert in structuring companies to access financing by employing governance, financial management and funding strategies. Gerard has worked on M&A teams transacting over $10 billion in his career.

As an experienced leader, manager, angel investor, board director & chair and certified management consultant, he understands the process of investment in growth companies and advises CEO’s on how to prepare for it. In addition to being Chairman, Maple Leaf Angels, a Canadian Angel Group, Gerard was also Small and Medium Enterprise Advisor to The Ontario Securities Commission and the Entrepreneur in Resident at INcubes, an internet accelerator based in Toronto, ON. He has a passion for helping young entrepreneurs prepare their companies for scale.

Gerard and his wife Mary reside in Toronto and Blue Mountain where they spend their time skiing, biking, playing tennis and golfing. They have four grown children Sue, Charles, Andrew & Brian.
